Junior Coordinator Application

The Surgical Exploration and Discovery Program (SEAD) is a two week of full-time surgery immersion program from the Department of Surgery that allows first year medical students to explore different surgical specialties through morning ORs, talks with staff and residents, and afternoon workshops. SEAD 2024 will run during the first two full weeks of July this summer.

Three Junior Coordinators (Med-1) will be recruited to help the Senior Coordinators help plan out the packed 2 weeks of surgical immersion, as well as being able to participate in SEAD itself. To apply, please fill out the following form. Please contact sead.mcgill@gmail.com or Taylor Morganstein for any questions. For more info on SEAD, see www.seadmcgill.ca

Deadline: Jan 19th, 2024 at 11:59 pm

SPACES ARE LIMITED! For this year’s recruitment, the application process is based on the cover letter and subsequent randomization. Applications are assessed by the Sr Coordinators.

Important notes:
- The goal of SEAD is to allow you to EXPLORE and DISCOVER various surgical specialties, given the limited exposure to surgery during FMD.
- We strongly emphasize that all participants are expected to be fully committed (every day from approximately 7:30am to 4:00pm). One’s absence reflects poorly on his/her professionalism and also takes away this valuable opportunity from another colleague. Please take this into consideration prior to expressing your interest.

For any questions or concerns, please contact Taylor Morganstein on facebook/email (taylor.morganstein@mail.mcgill.ca) or the general SEAD email (seadmcgill@gmail.com)
