The SEAD program offered a wide variety of content that span several surgical specialties: General Surgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, Urology, Cardiac Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Pediatric surgery, Otorhinolaryngology, and OBGYN.

On a typical day, the participants arrived at the hospital at 7am and were introduced to their surgery team by each Specialty Lead. At around 12:30pm, they reconvened for lunch, usually offered by the SEAD program. This social break often generate very interesting discussions where each participant shared enthusiastically their experience from the morning with their peers. Then the Faculty Lead gave a talk to the students, introducing them to their specialty, sharing their personal experience, and answered honest questions from the students. Lunch was followed by the afternoon workshop which introduced a skill of that day’s featured specialty.
